( 1 ) माँ और पुत्र
माँ : - आज इतनी जल्दी क्यों उठ बैठे ?
Why have you got up so early today ?
पुत्र : - आज मेरा पेपर है , माँ ।
I've to take an exam., today .
माँ : - कब जाओगे ?
When will you go ?
पुत्र : - नौ बजे । आज क्या बनाया है ?
At nine . What's there for breakfast today ?
माँ : - अब बनाऊँगी । बोलो जो अच्छा लगे ।
I'll cook now . Tell me what you'd like .
पुत्र : - कोई चीज हो जो जल्दी बन जाए ।
Anything which can be prepared fast .
माँ : - पराठे चलेंगे ?
Will paranthas do ?
पुत्र : - नहीँ , परांठे कब्ज करते है ।
No , they cause constipation .
माँ : - दही भी तैयार है ।
The curd is also ready .
पुत्र : - नहीँ माँ ! कोई हरी सब्जी बनाओ ।
No , mother ! Make some green vegetable .
माँ : - अब तुम्ही बताओ ?
Now you suggest ?
पुत्र : - पालक और आलू ।
Spinach with Potatoes .
माँ : - ठीक है । और कुछ ?

पुत्र : - कोई मीठी चीज बना दो ।
Make something sweet also .
माँ : - गाजर का हलवा अच्छा लगेगा ?
Will you eat carrot halwa ?
पुत्र : - नहीँ , इसे बनने में देर लगेगी । खीर चलेगी ।
No , it will take long . Kheer will do .
माँ : - लेकिन दूध बहुत थोडा है ।
But there is hardly any milk .
पुत्र : - अच्छा , रहने दो । मैं दही में चीनी डाल लूंगा ।
Well , leave it . I'll have sugar and curd .
माँ : - देर हो रही है । पहले नहा लो ।
It's getting late . You first take a bath .
पुत्र : - सबसे पहले बूट पालिश करने है ।
First I've to polish the shoes .
माँ : - क्या कल नही किए थे ?

पुत्र : - हाँ , किए थे । आज विश्वविधालय परिसर में जाना है।
Yes , I did . Today I've to go to University campus .
माँ : - पालिश करने में बेकार समय गंवाओगे ।
You'll just waste time in publishing .
पुत्र : - नहीँ माँ , आज मुझे कई दोस्त मिलेगे ।
No , I'll be meeting many friends today .
माँ : - अच्छा , तैयार हो जाओ । मैं चली रसोई को ।
O.K., get ready . I am going to the kitchen.
पुत्र : - मैं नहाने बैठा हूँ , माँ ! खाना परोस दो ।
I've had my bath , mother ! Lay the table.
माँ : - वह तो पहले ही परोसा रखा है ।

पुत्र : - मेरी अच्छी माँ ! आशीर्वाद दो । मैं जा रहा हूँ ।

उत्तर : - मेरा नाम रानी है ।
